Kalkite village is located on the north eastern end of Lake Jindabyne only 20 minutes from Jindabyne and 50 minutes to the ski fields and mountain bike trails around Thredbo. Uralba is a cedar clad “A" frame style cottage at number 22 Banksia avenue.
Uralba – an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place between two hills’.
Uralba is located in a quiet rural setting with pleasant views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. During the warm summer months you can walk down to the lake and go swimming at the many nearby beach locations. A kayak is provided for those who enjoy a paddle. If trout fishing is your thing, there are plenty of ideal locations to drop a line. For boat enthusiasts there is a boat ramp two kilometers up the road.
Recently, the house has been renovated. The large living area has a number of lounges with a centrally located wood burning and gas heater. Firewood is provided. The new kitchen is fully equipped with new cookware and appliances which include a Smeg gas top cooker and electric oven, microwave oven, slow cooker, rice cooker, Nespresso pod coffee maker, fridge and dishwasher. A Weber gas BBQ is provided on the back deck as well as a wood BBQ in the back garden. There is a downstairs bathroom complete with a washing machine and clothes dryer.
The fully carpeted bedrooms include one double bed downstairs in one bedroom, four king single beds in one room upstairs and two long single beds in the third bedroom. On request, the long single beds can be joined into a larger queen/king bed. Bed linen and towels are provided.
For your entertainment we include a flat screen TV, blue-tooth sound bar, DVD player and full access to the Internet and Apple TV. A range of DVDs, board games such as Monopoly and Scrabble plus puzzles are also provided.
The house has large windows on the northern end so as to capture the sun's energy and of course the view during the day. The upstairs bedrooms include reverse cycle heating and cooling.
Rental rates vary according to the time of year so please contact us for details. You can also book through Air BnB, Stayz/VRBO. Winter bookings (Mid June to Late September) fill up very quickly so get in early. Early bookings will be discounted.
